    .268 bullets

Friend has a Carcano he wants to try and shoot.
    He wants condom bullets.
As most know it's a 6.5mm, but bullet diameter is .268 not .264.
Only thing that comes close are .277di, .270 bullets.
I'm thinking they might be a little to big to try a swage down.
I think Horandy makes the bullets, bullets, but only need a few to try.
    Any other suggestions????

Hornady makes/made .268" Carcano bullets a few years ago.

If you want to invest a little money in the project NOE makes 6.5 molds that will cast .269 and .270 inches diameter. Good luck. Brodie

No longer made. They don't even offer the .268 in their 6.5 carc. Ammo anymore. .264s is what your stuck with. Hornady .267" # 2645 can be found. I have not tried them and at approx .40¢ a bullet I think I will try a NOE mold and a custom sizer?

Another alternative is paper patch a conventional .264 cast boolit, lube it with a smear of something soft and size it to the Carcano's throat diameter, probably .270 or so. As long as the bore condition aren't too hateful, it should produce results. YMMV.
