I have to drill for the jaw screw in the top jaw and cock(new replacements). My question is, should I clamp the top jaw and cock together in a clamp and drill both at same time? My idea keep every thing nice and lined up.

Check the travel of the top jaw and insure that it moves perfectly perpendicular to the cock. Sometimes there is a slight forward or backward imparted on the top jaw by the alignment groove on the cock.
