    WTB Possible bag

    Hi all,
I have been trying to find a possible bag like the one that Greybeard got used to make. He passed away and his son told me there was a long 18 month waiting list so thought I'd check here. The bag I want would be top grain single color leather with a pocket or two on the inside and a beaver tail type flap. An emblem of a star would be the bee's knees too. Tall order but just maybe....

Oh, so you want a shooting bag not a possibles bag. How much are you looking to spend?

(A shooting bag is what you carry the stuff with which to shoot and manage your gun. A possibles bag is any old bag slung over the other shoulder in which you carry the stuff incidental to the time spent hiking/hunting/wandering/shopping in the woods- food, fire starting stuff, compass, etc. In other words the stuff you might "possibly" need or find in your travels.) Without the shooting bag your gun is pretty much just a fancy club. Without the possibles bag you are merely inconvenienced.

Actually, was looking for a possibles bag. Not something to tote around the whole enchilada...more like a burrito to go kind of thing. Just something to pick up on my way out the door if I want to go hunting doves or just a plinking day-a possibles bag. More like a ditty bag, not my whole seabag.

You might go to flea bay and put in a search for "haversack" as well. I don't do Civil
War re-enacting any more but I kept my tarred haversack just to tote things in like you're talking about. Just a thought . . . .

I have used an old surplus M9 gas mask carrier as a possibles bag for years. I think I paid all of $2.50 for it. Should have bought a couple more. All I had to do was to relocate the strap, so that the opening was on top, instead of the front.

Are you looking for something similar to this.If so I have one almost finished. Just need to add the strap. I'll make it to what ever length you need. This bag has 2 internal pockets.

Boy, that is a real beauty. As of right now, I have one on the way from one of our members local here so I may just go with that. I know who to contact if I need another one. You guys are great with all your help and suggestions. Now, the one I have coming will hold just about everything I need for an outing or jaunt in the field-whatever name one gives it.

I've been working on belt bags the past year & I sold a few also. Right now have a design that will work to make up kits for my 40-45-54 rifles. It's a PIA changing out patches & rb for a woods walk or a quick run out back.
