    M-43 WIN 218 Bee

I don't know where else to post this so here goes.

For years I had a good supply of WIN 46 gr. Hornet bullets that I used in my Bee. Loaded the last ones and went to buy more but apparently they are no longer available since I cannot find them, nor any reference to them being available. So, the hunt is on for a "new" bullet. Because of the magazine restriction regarding the OAL, I need a bullet with a rather short ogive. I have been looking at the Speer #1023 SP and #1024 FN.

I contacted Speer and they responded that the FN #1024 would be better than the SP #1023. I'm thinking they are referring to use in the lever guns which would indicate a FN bullet. What data I found covered powder, case, primer, etc., but very little downrange information.

So my question, will the #1023 SP bullet allow me to seat out far enough to crimp and still be within my OAL limit or will I need to go with the FP #1024?

If I have to go with the FN bullet, how much will it affect the trajectory out to, say, 150-175 yards given the modest velocities of the Bee?

I had a Win 43 and the Speer fp worked perfectly in mine. No need for crimping; they grouped very well and the trajectory wasn't a problem out to 150-200 yards. They put the hurt on prairie dogs and jackrabbits.
I think Sierra makes a semispitzer 45 gr you might try.
    Wonderful little cartridge, the Bee.

I'm very glad to hear that since I just place an order with Grafs for 500 of the FN bullets. The price sure was right.
