If you are using one of the complete mixes, substitute buttermilk for some of the water.

    Many kinds of Pancakes
What kind of Pancakes do you like
I use a box mix. Sometimes name brand, sometimes not.
Always with a cast iron skillet.

Krusteas box for the grandkids. For us I use 2 cups sourdough starter, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, and 1/2-3/4 cup water. Mix the wet and the dry separately then together and add 1/2-1 tsp baking soda depending on how yeasty your start is. Stir then let it rest for a minute until you get good sized bubbles then add the 1 tbsp cooking oil and 1 egg beaten together. Cook on an oiled griddle, should be cooked not deep fried.

Only downside to sourdough is thinking far enough ahead to get the starter going.

Make mine with Bisquick and served with cane syrup.
When my kids were little I would slice bananas into the batter and make banana pancakes...they loved them . My daughter still talks about Daddy's Banana Pancakes but she preferred Mrs. Butterworth's syrup to my cane syrup....I need to make some of those....it's been a while.

Home made for both pancakes and waffles. Often with fruit in them, or a couple slices of cooked bacon on the griddle, then the batter. I have not cooked any of either since last October, when I was suddenly single again.
