    FYI-

Yesterday, I called RCBS and asked if there were any detailed drawings of the Posi-Prime base that could be shared as I was hoping to use same to perhaps have some bases machined/made. The service rep checked and said there were no detailed drawings available. He did say, however, that the tap in the base into which the primer plug screws, was 8/32 as shown in triggerhappy's above post.

    Thanks,

For some reason, RCBS (and others too) are very secretive about drawings for equipment they no longer sell or have parts. I don't know whether it is a "lawyer thing" or it is just that they don't want you to rebuild but rather to buy their new and "improved" versions. I worked in operations and operational control for a large company and it was really silly to what lengths they would go and at no little costs sometimes, just to protect so called secrets for their products when a simple chemical analyst and an average BS major in chemistry could figure things out in short order. Not saying I blame RCBS or others but it seems like they could be loosing good will sometimes with that attitude. Not a rant--just the facts man, james

TNsailorman, put yourself in the owners shoes. you did all that R&D for these products, spent all that cash on patents and tooling. would you want someone stealing that and making their own to sell?

I have been in their shoes. If you notice that in my statement I said "Not saying I blame RCBS or others". But if you no longer are supporting a product that you once produced, it is not stealing if someone provides that support. Otherwise, you would not be able to buy parts for your car beyond 3 to 5 years after that model ceased production. After market production is what keeps older cars and many other products working. james

100 % AGREE JAMES. I do not think rcbs has completely stopped parts support, they may do a run at a later date to refill the shelf when there is enough requests. I wish they would bring back this model. I have 2 of them, and will not use any other model............... even the one with the tray attached.

Triggerhapy243, I have 5 of them. Four have the small primer stem but not the larger primer stem. That is what made me start the search and I have been trying to get the larger sizes for over 3 years now, with no luck. I plan on leaving these for my grandsons for their reloading adventures. I would like to get these 4 complete for them as well as myself. I really appreciate the effort you guys are putting out to make some for me and others that might need the parts. Take care, james
