    WTB/WTT RCBS Posi-Primer stems

I have 2 RCBS Posi-Primer hand tools and I need both the large and small seating stems, cups, and springs for them. If anyone has stems they are willing to sell, or trade, please let me know and we will try to work out a deal. Thanks, james

Try calling RCBS, I'll bet that they'll ship you what you need for free.

I called them before placing this add. They haven't had stem for the Posi-Prime for quite some time. They would send them if they had them but they don't. james

The parts look like standard primer plug, sleeve and springs that thread into a short round stock part - can you just swap large primer parts onto one of the small primer rods?

If not the parts look like a quick lathe job if someone who has one could take a few moments with some calipers to sketch up some dimensions.

pastera, yes I could if I had the large primer stem, spring, and cup but I don't. I am going to give RCBS a call tomorrow and see if they can supply those pieces as they are used on the RC & RC II primer arm that came with the presses. Anyway guys, I do Thank each and everyone that replied with advice and suggestions. I learned a couple of things; which is always helpful. The people on this forum are great. james

have a picture of it??? can it be made?

Post#7 in this thread shows them well. Any machinist should be able to duplicate a set if someone let you borrow them for measurements. Have any good machinist friends lol??!!

At my advanced age, all the old gunsmiths and machinest that I knew have all gone on to be with the Lord. I have been hoping a fellow shooter/machinest with a good lath would chime in and volunteer to make some for a reasonable price. I know that there are others that would probably like some extras for their tools if they could find them. They look like they would be simple to make and I could supply one from my small complete assembly for measurements. The base unit for both small and large assemblies are the same, only the stem and cup being different. The bases (4) is all I need at this time--not necessarily the entire assembly--although I would not turn one down. The stem, spring and cup from a primer arm from the RC and RC II will work in the base as they are the same. RCBS does not have any more complete assemblies or basses. I have 4 posi-primes that need the bases to make them complete. I appreciate all the help with info and suggestions though, james

James is noting that he could use 4 Posi-Prime bases if someone would be able to machine them. I could make the machinist's effort a bit more worthwhile and would purchase an additional 4 bases if someone expressed an interest in making them...

    Thanks -

coyote, I wish I could send you a drawing but I am computer challenged. I can write and send an email but I do not know how to upload pictures, cut and paste, or any of the things I really need to be able to do. I am going out west to visit my son this august and he has promised to teach me how to do these things. I would be glad to send you one of my small complete assemblies to measure if that would help. I will pay postage to send and return the assembly. james
