    Lee double disc risers?

So I have dozens of spare discs and I was wondering if anyone had an aftermarket solution for just the risers for the double disc kit so that I can use a few more discs that I already have instead of stacking them up everytime I buy a new kit.

If you're loading for rifle, I can't help. For pistol, I gave up on the double disk and swapped over to the Adjustable Charge Bar. I highly recommend; only need the one riser.

Call Lee. Say you have disks but need the risers. They will probably send them to you. Worth a try.

This is a possibility, you have to get bolts/screws that are longer than original (6-32 threads ), and you have to score a couple ot distance tubes (can be harvested from broken electronic appliances or bought on eBay)

Either that or hire one of your kids to 3d-print the spacer for you (I bought screws/bolts from China)

I trick i learned with the double disc is to tale the two disc together.
Seems to make it more accurate.
You'll also need longer screws with the risers.

I searched around the Lee site looking for a part number for these risers but had no luck.

I think 2nd disc risers could be made out 1/4or 3/8" thick sheet plastic or aluminum.
They would just need to be as tall as a disc is thick...
You would need to line up the inner edge with the base to locate/drill the screw hole(s), so the extra thickness is on the outside.
That's what I'd do if I was needing 2nd disc risers.

Kenstone, that's what I did before I ended up with a set. Worked fine, just took a bit of careful filing to get the riser pieces the correct size.

The charge bar - I am thinking about it. Does it work very well?

It doesn’t work w/ small charges at all. My results w/ larger charges were poor at best. I know some people love them. I bought blank discs and drilled them out for loads I use all the time. If I need fine adjustment I use a different measure.

The Lee adjustable charge bar that I bought was pretty well useless. Especially at the smaller settings the adjustable cavity doesn't align with the drop hole from the powder reservoir very well or at all. I was pretty miffed as to why Lee would even sell such a poorly designed product. I tried all the mods that I could find online but finally buried it as deep in the junk drawer as I could and made one similar to the that one that another member on here shared.

Anyways, that was my experience with the Lee adjustable charge bar.

The chargebar works fine for me for larger loads like for the .44 mag.

Regarding the risers, I copied the original design and put it on thingiverse.com So, in case you have a 3D printer, feel free to download it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2968736 (if not, send me a private message and I will print a few for you and mail them over).

That's how the 3D-printed ones look like. Fit like the original and I also designed a double-height one in case you need to stack three of them...

Titan Reloading sells just the risers, the rest of the Lee stuff has a great discount as well!

Google them and browse the site maybe more that you need?

Charge bar worked great with 4 grains of bullseye for me. Mine is new, not sure if that has a bearing.

Charge Bar works very well, but not for small charge volumes. +/- 0.1gr for Blue Dot and Universal. More variable for Unique. Smaller volumes than 0.50 cc are a go-to for me. Lee clearly indicates the small volume charge limitation. This limitation is not an issue for 9mm, .40SW and 10mm that I load. Best 8 bux I've spent in awhile.

Ditto sparkyv ,, bought the LEE micro bar ( 3 head turret. ) ,,not enough for 44/40 or 40/60 ,,made a spacer the same spec . as the LEE ( w/o the dial ) out of nylon stock ( don't remember the trade name ) stacked the factory LEE on top ,, twice the volume and works smooth and adjustable w/ the LEE micro bar dial .

    coffee's ready ,, Hootmix .

Custom Cast has their version of Lee powder bars and also custom discs. I messed up the link so deleted it. Their products are also on ebay under custom cast usa. Entering custom cast and lee powder bar in google will help find their website. I apologize for being clumsy with the link.
