Yup, we've had then in Williamson County for a few years.
The thing of it is, they had to have been carried here by the rivers, and then the have to find each other,,,,,,.

Ya, it sure is funny they tried to tell us here in Tennessee, it just gets to cold for them in the winter and they won't be able to survive. I remember thinking, "funny how I've seen plenty of them North of the Missouri river in Missouri!", and they have colder winners than we do!
Everything moves around , seen three porcupines ran over on the road here in north Texas where I live in the last couple of years . I'm 66 years old and never seen a porcupine till now . LOL , last year my daughter and me got out of the truck just to look at a dead one on the road .

This actually shows that they could be as far as where I live in the NorthEast. Howda thunk there could be armadillos in MA.

They have been here in MN for some time. Like over a decade+ anyway. Never used to have them before that, or the population was so small it was not noticeable.
I can assure ya that at least here in MN, Winter & cold weather doesn't keep them away or prevent them from staying over year round.
ETA: See post #10. I made a mistake & was thinking "Opossum/'Possum" & not Armadillos...
Both being runty little round creatures with pointy tails that I consider "vermin". My mistake...

We have cougars and black bears here in NW Illinois. I cant figure out why in the world they want out move here when I want to get away from here.

They won't. They love grubworms. Be careful with their blood if you shoot them. They contain 5 gallons of it! Some say they carry leprosy- I never caught it from catching them as a kid though. You must hold them high on the side or by the root of the tail unless you want your skin clawed off. Send them all back to Texas and we'll send pigs to you!
Boaz- porcupines are being seen more often around Brownwood/ Rising Star according to kin there.

I found a dead one on the road in Waukegan IL about 20 years ago I'm just waiting for the pig's to move up
