I hear ya, been going to order a couple of bottles but just my luck I will get 2 of the 5000's and the next day the new 3000 will become available.

Everyone talks down on Hornady can spray case lube, but this is exactly why I keep some around. I have a BIG pile of coated boolits, and I spray a quick shot into the box while I size. When they start to drag a little I shoot another shot in there. I like it lots more than the heavier lubes like lanolin because it kinda disappears rather than remaining sticky for the remainder of the boolits life. And it also dries instantly too.

I use Hornady on my rifle cases- I like it.As I said before, I didn't know that Hi-Tek needed a lube, but when I saw there was a "special lube" made for the coating, I bit. Seems to work well so far, maybe I'm a sucker.

The Aqualube makes sizing far easier on the gear.
You do not have to use it, But you can.
    I do.
    Hooroo.

I received two bottles of AquaLube 5K a couple days ago. The bottles had about 1/2” of liquid in the bottom of each bottle then I added DA to fill the bottle up. Before I did though, I shook the bottle and it quickly got a head on it with lots of bubbles. Is this a soap product?

Aqualube 5000 and Aqualube 3000 are not soap based products.
The products are a water based Polymeric Emulsions. It does contain materials that will cause foam, and that is why it is an emulsion.
This foam instantly collapses when you add the Denatured alcohol, and the Alcohol and wetting agent, assists with wetting out surfaces requiring lubrication.
    Hope that answers your question.

Do I need to shake it before use? I did find denatured alcohol by the way. Nowhere on the can could I find that it was 100% denatured ethyl alcohol tho.

Any brand of denatured alcohol will be just fine as long as it is only denatured alcohol.
It is also called Methylated spirits in some areas.

Once you have added it to the alcohol and mixed it, the ingredients can settle.
It will re-suspend easily, and should be done before using.

I assumed it was ethyl-no reason to denature other alcohols, but was concerned about percentage. Thanks HI-TEK

T-Bird, if you have some spare Bourbon or Scotch or Vodka, it will do as well but it would be a waste. Aqualube does not taste any good at all...lol

If I have to size down much more than 0.002", I spray with a coating of Oneshot, helps things along.

I got some of the Aqualube and just want to check to make sure I am correct in my understanding of when I can use it. I am under the impression that I can recoat boolits after sizing using the Aqualube with no impact on performance of the Hi-Tek. Is that correct? I have sometimes found that sizing will cause some slight damage to coating and want to recoat after to make perfect looking boolits.

    You are correct, Sir.

If the Aqualube is mixed as per instructions, you can re-coat after sizing.
i do this with all the flat base bullets I make.

I may do that then, do 1st coat, lube and size, then recoat. haven't done that. I too was having trouble with the sizer marring the finish but am having no lead fouling probs. so I didn't worry. I just would like better looking boolits! At my age I should be saying " looks aren't everything" but if you can have better looking, why not!

One more thing. Am I supposed to let this stuff dry before sizing?

With Aqualube and mixtures, they are a dry film lube. Maximum effects are when the stuff is dry. If you have wipe off, you used too much and is wasted.
Lubing requires just enough applied, to cause a barely visible ghostly film.
About 1 gram of dry lube (when adequately diluted) should cover an area of about 40 square metres of surface.
