Anyone one with 454 casaull loads in a encore rifle???

I have a 454 in an encore rifle with 28 inch bullberry barrel. Lots of pistol info, but little rifle. Cast and jacketed would be appreciated!!

I'm unaware of there being different loads between rifle and pistol 454 loads. You can stick to the slower powder pistol 454 loads as they will probably give higher velocity in a rifle.

Same load data, I use H110 and IMR4227 in mine.

I haven't loaded for an encore rifle but have loaded for a puma rifle. With the lee 310 grain using WW 296 and gas check I was getting a bit over 1800 FPS while the same load was getting in the mid 1500s in a 7.5 inch ruger. I would recommend starting at 30.0 grains and work up. I don't know what your intended game is but that should put the hurt on most things that walk about in north america.

Hope this helps, I haven't watched that video in a long time. The bullet jump was corrected later with a full profile crimp die from redding. I don't doubt the encore could be pushed a tad further than some other guns out there. Although I haven't had a chance to play with any but the alliant MP300 powder looks to be interesting to apply to the 454 or the 460 S&W. Life gets in the way as I have too many toys and too little time to experiment.
