Federal ultra clay & field with 000?

I picked up a bunch of these hulls at the local trap club yesterday. I was messing with them a little bit last night and found that if you cut the petals off of a CB1138-12 you can easily get 10 pellets of 000 in the hull stacked by twos and it crimps nicely.

In the Lyman book they list a 9 pellet 000 buckshot load for federal gold metal hulls. Wondering if I dropped the powder charge could this be a viable load? Anyone try this?

It seems Federal comes out with a new name for their promo shells every year, so it is hard to keep track. Are those a paper basewad? If so, they actually produce lower pressures than gold medal, and you could keep the powder charge the same as listed for a gold medal.

They are all plastic with a high brass base.

I'm wanting to try a 10 pellet load of 000.
