    Small Wheel Weight Score

Took my Wife and Mom for a ride today and had lunch. When I got back home there was a 5 gallon bucket sitting by the shop door. Nearly full of wheel weights. I still don't know where or who it came from. Networking works!

I started sorting through it and it appears that the weights are very old. There was a bar of 40-60 solder, a length of 1/8th inch solder, a couple of partial linotype bars, a few battery cable clamps and of course, wheel weights. There were also a few reject cast bullets, so I have a hint who the donor is.

I'm not trying to brag, well maybe a little! Just trying to impress that networking does work. This score was the result of asking friends to look out.

I figured out who the generous donor was. I also finished sorting through the bucket. It appears that these came from a small shop with a limited assortment of weights as many of these were cut off and the pieces were also in the bucket. They were pretty old, not a single steel or zinc weight in the bunch.

These came from an old bullseye shooter that works part time at the local parts store. I went in one day looking for an "O" ring for a Lyman sizing die. He knew what it was and we got to talking shooting and casting. He ask me if I needed any lead. Well, yeah sure!
