Hmmm, I haven't heard of a rapper named "Mold". How/when did he die? Drug overdose? Break his neck "break dancing"?

    Sorry, I couldn't resist...

I got 22 years out of a hickory shovel handle that I cut off. Unfortunately it started to splinter very badly last year. I just bought a raw-hide mallet. Best thing I ever did.

There is a thread in the classic stickies about making a homemade lead hammer out of a split copper tee. I use a piece of all thread for a handle wrapped in
electrical tape. When it gets deformed I stick it in the melt and cast a new one. I usually keep 2 or 3 handy at any one time.

Must have been 25 plus years ago I took a good old hard maple hammer handle, cut off the part that the head fits on and bored out the bottom couple of inches and put some lead shot in it.
The objective is to tap the mold halves ... Not Beat Them to Death!

It gave it more inertia even with small taps. The extra inertia seemed to help a lot.
On every question of construction let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.
