    12 pellets of 00 buckshot

I want loading information for 12 gauge 00 buckshot in a Remington premier or nitro 27 hull with the following wads. CB-WAA12F114, CB-WAA12R, CB- WAA12, Remington R12L, and Remington SP12. When loading my buckshot, I have removed all pedals from the above mentioned wads. IF you have load using 12 pellets of 00 buckshot please send it to me. Also, let me know what powder you are using and how much.I am considering using a Teflon wrap around the shot to protect it in the barrel. My main focus is on a 12 pellet load of 00 buckshot in a 2 3/4 " hull.

    Can you get 12 in a 2 3/4" hull? I have a 10 pellet load and it's a full load.

Unless I'm way off base, I don't think your going to get 12 pellets in a 2 3/4 shell, unless your loading just a gas seal and then your payload. Just as mention about depending on your WAD choice 8 - 10 pellets are a full load.

    A 12 pellet load is listed for a 3 inch shell, but not a 2 3/4.

I think the WAA 12 Red wads have so little crush space that 12 pellets of 00 should fit nicely.. I'd look for a 1 1/2 ounce field load utilizing something like HS6 or Longshot.

15 pellet 00 loads are standard for the 3" hull and I've seen an 18 pellet 00 load for 3 1/2" hulls.

I just looked up a 1 1/2 oz load (12 pellets of 00 buck) on the Hodgdon web site..

    Shell: Rem STS 2 3/4"
    GAUGE: 12
    Lead Shot 1 1/2 oz.
Manufacturer Powder Primer Wad Grs. Pressure Vel. (ft/s)
    Hodgdon Longshot Rem. 209P Rem. RP12 25.0 11,500 PSI 1,205
    Hodgdon Longshot Rem. 209P WAA12R 24.8 11,000 PSI 1,205
    Hodgdon Longshot Win. 209 Rem. RP12 25.6 10,400 PSI 1,205
    Hodgdon Longshot Win. 209 WAA12R 26.1 10,500 PSI 1,205
    Hodgdon Longshot Win. 209 WAA12R 27.0 11,300 PSI 1,260

There is a 12 pellet load in the Lyman manual for federal gold metal hulls and a WAA12R wad with 34.0gr of bluedot. It does fit I just loaded one but the hull is dimpled.

I pulled it apart and cut the petals off and it fits allot better. I'll shoot it next time I go out.

    Gentlemen,

Remember, commercial 12 pellet 00B loads contain pellets on the smaller side of of the industry tolerance range. Usually around .323" and 50 grains. Such a 12 pellet load would then have a 600 grain or 1 3/8 ounce payload.
