    Another PSA 9mm question

So far I love the little 9mm carbine that takes Glock magazines,it runs good and even runs with steel case “junk” ammo. I noticed a thing tonight after a cleaning if you extend or collapse the stock while the bolt is open the bolt will close as in go into battery, it does not fire but it sure made me jump, so I went through other AR weapons, some even PSA or with PSA parts and no other rifle I have will close the bolt by adjusting the stock. Is this an issue, anyone else have this happen?

Happens on mine too. Have not been able to pin point the issue so far. Might just be that heavy bolt overpowers the lock. Interested on the experts opinions...

The heavy bolt is probably the culprit; overcoming the standard bolt release spring. I can release the bolt on my standard ARs by slapping the buttplate.

All cast. Lee 356-120 TC over 4.5 grains of WSF out of a 16" barrel. No issues since they replaced my first out of spec barrel.

I just took my 4.5 inch psa glock lower AR pistol and locked the bolt back and smacked the arm brace against the floor and it didn't release. I didn't SMASH it against the floor but held it about 6 inches off the living room carpet and let it drop. By the way mine seems to run like a top and ive got probably close to 500 rounds of cast pc'd and lubed bullets through it and the bore looks as clean as running jacketed. By the way I also tried my cmmg 16 inch ar15 that uses colt style stick mags that actually lock the bolt back when empty and it didn't release either. By the way, anyone that's on the fence about an ar15 in 9mm jump! there about as much fun as you can have with your pants on and are as cheap to shoot as a 22lr these days if you cast. I haven't accuracy tested the little 4 inch gun yet but my cmmg will shot cast 147s into just a smidge over and inch at a 100 yards. Loaded with jhps they make for a great home defense gun too. Not nearly as loud as a 5.56 and recoil is so close if I closed my eyes I couldn't tell you which I was shooting.

So the problem seemed to get worse and PSA sent me a labor and told me to send it in and I would receive either a properly functioning rifle or a replacement. They seem to stand by their products

could be too that the blow back 9s use a heavier buffer and spring. that said again I cant get mine to do it. I haven't smashed it on concrete to really test it but like I said it holds up to any normal use.

I think your problem is more likely an out of spec bolt catch.
Most all AR platform firearms will do what you've explained if the butt is struck with sufficient force to take pressure off of the bolt catch.
    This will release the bolt.

Sounds to me like your bolt catch is just not catching quite enough bolt.
Kind of like setting a mouse trap to go off with just a stiff breeze.

Yes that is exactly what I was thinking
