Can someone tell me if there is a difference between Alox and liquid Alox? If so, I would like to know more about Alox.

I believe liquid Alox is a type of Alox that mineral oil is added to to make it a liquid. I'm sure you've read on here that if your liquid Alox drys up some to just add mineral oil to it. Off the top of my head I believe the Alox LEE uses for that is 350. Someone correct me please if I have that wrong.

You do not want to add mineral oil to Liquid Alox lube. You use mineral spirits.

There are/were many types of Alox made by the now defunct Alox Corporation (maker of rust-inhibiting chemicals), now owned by Lubrizol Corp.

But if you just want to know about the Alox that's used for boolit lube, this thread covers it pretty good.

I don't know if they still do it or not But years ago I got a sample of alox 350 from Lubrizol corp. I just called them up and asked for a qt. and they sent it to me lasted me a long time D Crockett

Just a little clarification on the subject.
Alox is a brand name. That is now owned by Luberizol corp.
there are many products with the Alox name attached to them, but there is 2 main products that we have an interest in here for bullet lube. Alox 350 and Alox 606-55.
The NRA formula for 50-50 stick lube is 50% Beeswax and 50% Alox 2138F.
Alox 2138F is no longer made, Alox 350 is the current replacement.
Alox 350 has the consistency of a light grease. It is NOT a tumble lube, nor can it be made into a tumble lube.
To make Alox 350 be closer to Alox 2138F, you must add 6-7% Micro wax to it.
Alox 350 is the Alox that I use in some of my stick lubes.
Yes I do add micro wax to my 50-50 lube. I use Alox 350 in my 50-50, 2500+ and BAC lubes.

Next is Alox 606-55:
Alox 606 is a solid that is very hard to work with. Alox 606-55 is 55% Alox 606 and 45% Mineral Spirits.
Alox 606-55 is what Lee uses for their Liquid Alox.
This one is a tumble lube and will dry most of the way, but will probably still remain soft and a little tacky for quite some time.
Alox 606-55 is what I use in my Liquid Xlox and 45-45-10 lubes.
