    6.5x55se lead boolit load

    Hello,
I am in France and need a load for a 140gn cast boolit (RCBS mould) with a powder(s) I can buy here. For example Vectan or Norma etc. I am really stuck. Can somebody please help me?
    Thanks

With Norma you can use 204, 205, MRP, and MRP2. With Vectan you can use TU7000 and TU8000. I haven't any loads for those powders as I don't use them, but you should not get into trouble with them as they are very very slow. You will have to work up a load. The 6.5 Swede is bottlenecked enough to help those powder burn.

Size the bullet the fatest that it drops from the mold. I doubt that it exceeds .268. The 6.5 Swede has really a large groove diameter. Don't worry about the cartridge fitting the chamber with a fat cast bullet as it has ample room.

    GreglaROCHE,

Find the slowest powder available then use it with the largest boolit you can chamber. My Swedes love WC860 (or AA870) powder and .268" diameter 140 grain boolits cast from 50/50 COWW and Lino. Velocities in the 1800-1850 fps seem to work best with the Swede's 1 turn in 7.5 inch twist rate. My 1900 Carl Gustov M96 will put 10 shots into a 2 inch circle at 100 yards from the bench with this formula.
