    Your FAVORITE 1911 . . . Picture Thread

Well, your favorite or your oldest or most valuable or your most whatever...just post a picture for the rest of us to enjoy.

This is not my first, most expensive or anything else...just an entry level Kimber that is fast becoming the one I shoot the most...

These two are my favorites. Colt National Match was my duty gun. S&W 1911 was my match gun. Both super accurate and reliable function over the years. Both guns will feed empty sizeClick image for larger version.

I have several, but this is my favorite. I put it together from Colt parts that spanned 40 years.

    My Favorite Pistol; Period!

This is actually my only 1911 but the reason I've owned it so long while other hand guns have come and gone is because it accurate, reliable and easy to shoot. I've had it so long that the finish had started to show it's age. A few months back I decided to powder coat it to prevent it from rusting out from under me.

I would love to have one also. If I could justify the price.

I am currently down to a EAA Witness (Tanfoglio) 1911 with a polymer frame. It works fine though. I have had thoughts about using the rail for a scope mount, or a laser or a flashlight. I have the mount, I just haven't mounted it or anything on it yet. Too much fun shooting it as is.

Here's one of my all time favorites. It is a complete build done by my pistolsmith of the time, Harold Johnson, the ex-marine who built Blankenship's guns:

My wife bought me the carved Indian Elephant Ivory grips for a birthday present.

This has been a superb pistol in every way.

My Professional is my current favorite 1911 followed closely by my MC Operator. I’m thinking of checkering the front strap and ceracoating the frame Black to get rid of that horrendous green. Then we’ll see if the favorites change.

Is this close enough to a 1911 to count? If not, I like this other one a lot.
