Blue2; Yes the Lyman for the M39 has a shorter cross slide, and they are not cheap on Ebay anymore. Your spacer behind the sight base was a good fix.
The drawings and pics gave me some ideas, but I'm getting busy right now with Navy stuff so it'll have to wait.
