So I know it's the 11th hour, but does the option exist to have the mold be half gas checked half plain base? I was debating on either when I went in and now I've seen the option to split it on other ones...

He won’t mix cavities. I would order the plain base mold and order 5000 pb gas checks from Sage. That’s a lifetime supply for 45-70.

Is it past to change to a gas check mould? I just spoke to my hunting buddy and we decided gas checks aren't that expensive and it will work better in the lever guns I'd we want to push them.

    Sorry to be a PITA

I need a bit of advise, these moulds aren't cheap. I'm going to be sizing them to .459 . The mould was designed for 462 and I have a lubrisizer so I figured sizing .003 wouldn't do any harm... However now that I keep thinking about it my .459 moulds drop usually around .460 so will the .460 mould drop around .461? I don't know how MP moulds are and I don't want to make the wrong choice here.

Was re-reading the initial post about this mold. I realized that there was not an option listed for a 2 cavity mold. I had seen where some other members had wanted a 2 cavity mold. Change mine to the 4 cavity option (unless he has already ordered the mold blocks for the specific 2 cavity design). Here is my info from the list:

23)ALBROOMS at ComCast doT neT- .460- 2 Cavity HP GC- All Pins

change to ALBROOMS at ComCast doT neT - .460 4 cavity HP GC All Pins

Hey, thanks....had not thought about this bullet in a 458 SOCOM. The 4-cavity will encourage me to start looking for a "New Toy". Plus, I know me....I would have wished I purchased the 4 cavity after the first pouring session.

I am sizing to .460" with my .458socom and I ordered the .460" mold. That is close to the limit to what the throat can handle on my Tromix barrel. I don't want the nose forward of the crimp groove to be too large, that is what hits the throat first.
