Thanks!
If Mihec is advising against the 6 cavity aluminum I will cancel my order please. I don't need a 4 cavity.
Miha didn’t recommend against it the boolits original designer did. I am going to ask Miha to do a prototype of the 6 cavity and we can put it through it’s paces and see if the potential for overheating causes any issues. This mold is in stock on his website and is his flagship boolit for the 45-70

My mistake, sorry. I assumed from your private message it was Miha advising against the 6 cavity and I value his opinion.
If we are willing to make recommendations based on 45 2.1's opinion then it should also be ok to use his name in the forum instead of referring to "the designer". If I had realised it was just 45 2.1 stirring the pot I would not have cancelled. I thought 45 2,1 was banned from CB.
There is no controversy here. Multi-cavity molds for bigger bullets simply require longer cooling period or a fan to speed up the process. I have made hundreds of bullets using a 5 cavity .460" 550 gr Accurate mold with no issues - and that is more heat to dissipate than this 6 cavity 405 gr will produce.
I have a bad taste in my mouth over this and I would rather not participate in the GB. Sorry for the trouble.

Jet hunter,
Thanks for the feedback. I have requested a prototype of the 6 cavity and will float it to some experienced casters and through my own hands before we go live with it. Once again. Thanks for your input.

Bluejay if you would please change my order from 2 cav GC HP to a 4 cav GC HP all pins please . Thank you for thadd3220 at yahoo dot com
Can anyone tell me if this bullets' ogive will chamber in an un-altered Browning or Winchester 1886 (Miroku) rifle? (Really short leads)
Bob
Short leade might not be a bad thing. With the Lee FCD I would work the length to engage the rifling and crimp there. My worry would be the opposite of yours...I would want to know if there was enough diameter past the crimp groove. I have scoured the archives and there was no mention of this boolit having chambering issues.
