453 350 gc grain solid, with hp

    Hello all.

I'm wanting a nice big, fat meplat bullet for my 454. Thinking in the 360 grain area, gas check, maybe two Lube groves, and possibly with hollow point pins. Meplat at about .43.

    Also, 452 diameter, not 453

I will take this one on. First question, what firearm would you plan on using this in primarily? That is going to drive what the design will be.

See the attachment. This is what Underwood loads at 452 and 360 grains in their 454 Casull loaded Ammo. Would a design like this work for you? The designer is going to smooth the corners Im sure for reliable feeding in Lever actions and maybe change the angle of the crimp groove for a smooth transition from Boolit to Brass. But it will be similar to the photo shown. Should show some functionality in the 450 Bushmaster as well.

I will send it to MIHEC's primary designer to build it. Might be a while. This one will need to generate more interest before it runs.

Thank you. In the mean time, I might buy a box of that ammo! It looks tasty!

I understand it would need a bit of interest. I really would like a hollow point offering, but not totally necessary

    Boolit Design

See attachment and provide feedback. The rounded edges aid in function in lever actions.

I'd personally like something a tad heavier, and a gas check is pretty much necessary. But I like the design so far

The full diameter is going to carry beyond the crimp groove to add a few more grains in version 2. Boolit as a solid wont exceed 350 grains. Will come as a hollow point and with GC options.

Need a little more interest. This makes an awesome candidate for 450 Bushmaster.

I'm interested. Either the 454 WFN V01 or V03 would be the perfect heavy boolit for my 45 Colt Rugers and Marlins. I'd take a 4 cavity Gas Check Solid mold in .454. I'd size it to .452 most likely but like to have the extra .002 as cast.
