Wonderful California...drought, drought, drought and then a "massive rain storm"...we had 0.01 inch of rain....didn't even wash the dust off my windshield..but the accident rate on the freeway doubled for about half a day....got to swear..people have no idea what to do when they don't know about rain or snow...get a 0.1 inch of dampness and the freeways all need a sig alert to keep the Prius's out of the ditch...

You guys can have some of my rain. It has been coming down in snow rain and freezing rain for the last few weeks. Looks like some sun for three days then back to rain.

The local weather prognosticator says we are about 1.5" short of normal for the year. It has rained out every outdoor activity in the last 2 months. Being retired means I can do whatever, whenever I chose, but if it includes younger friends, it has to happen on their schedual. I've got to develop older friends or buy a better rain coat.

Was snowing in Anchorage yesterday when I left. Now it’s snowing in Denver boarding a plane.

The problem with drought then heavy rain is flooding. You can get several inches over a week that soaks in vs several inches over a day and it just floods and then the ground is still dry.

Where were you last week when we had a week`s worth of rain and deep snow finishing up the week with a freezing rain ice storm putting anywhere from under 1/4" of ice on stuff to upwards near 3/8"+? Today it is sunny and 62 here in balmy Michigan.Robert

We just had a big rain last week.
Parts of the island of Kauai got it bad.
    Some lost everything.
Came from the range today and lots of water damaged items piled up along the streets.
Rain is good, but to much is a problem.

Oh I can feel it here now. Air is heavy and has that smell. They are calling for rain this afternoon into tomorrow. Heavy at times.

We got an inch need more but thankful for every drop we get. Flooding is not a problem Amarillo sits on top of a hill almost 4000'The new comers who bought houses in a lake bed should have looked at the surounding area. The land devolopers bought the plya lakes cheap and sold it high crooks everywhere.

This morning dawned with moderate rain and cool. By 8o it had almost stopped and there were breaks in clouds on the Southwest.
When I got out of the Dr. office, the sky was brilliant blue and as clean as I ever remember seeing.
Just goes to show that not all first impressions are correct. At dawn this morning I wouldn't have imagined the outcome.
