    Savage 99 tang screw size ?

    What is the tang screw size for those Savage 99"s that are only drilled and tapped for a tang type sight ?

    AFAIK

    Some tang screws are size 0.166-40, .500" length, 0.250" head size and 0.140" shank size.

    Others are 8-40, oval head screws.
