does this die go to? There's a flange on it that keeps it from really working on a Lyman, but otherwise, it seems dimensionally correct.

I think it was designed for an early Lyman sizer that didn't use an O ring for sealing the top. It might work in a model 45 lubrisizer since it doesn't use the lock ring.
OK, I always thought the 45s used the same dies. I was wondering if this is a Herters?
The 45 lubrisizers do use the same dies as the 450 and 4500. The die you asked about might work in a 45 while not working in the others.
OK, I see. I got it needing an over size 8mm die. I slipped it in the 450 and managed to size a few with it, obviously it's not gonna lube them. I was thinking a guy could turn that flange off somehow and it would work in the 450. Gotta check out a Herters and see if that's what it's designed for.
It may well be a Herters. I have never seen a Herters lubesizer so I can't say.
Just so happens I have a couple of them, but they're in pretty poor shape. Gonna need to take the time to soak everything and clean them up to see whether I want to mess with them or not.
Picture didn't come through. I had/have a few SAECOdies that have a flange. I ground off the flange and other interfereing parts to size and lube some of my rarer boolits.
With the flange it's probably the Saeco - Herter's made models that used the Saeco dies and ones that used the Lyman dies.

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
I saw the link right after you posted it so apparently it got taken down.
Saeco dies are flanged and threaded on the bottom --
Herters #49 uses a die similar to saeco but has a smaller thread diameter - saeco will not work in herters -- herters will possibly work in saeco - haven't tried to swap them. --
I understand there is a herters that uses lyman/rcbs dies but i have not seen one --
Star uses a flanged die, body is smaller than lyman/rcbs --
Perhaps posting the dimensions will help id the die --
