The rooster comb stuff is "Viscoux" (spelled close to that) or aka Hyaluronan aka Hyaluronic Acid Injections. Cortisone just hurt my knees; Viscoux helped a lot though, which is nice.

My Dad just got his second new knee at 85. First one was last October. His recovery is awesome. He is already taking a few steps away from the walker and will probably be on a cane in a few days. After getting a total knee myself last year and seeing how much better his recoveries have gone than mine I think the surgeon makes a big difference.
