    7x57 Rolling Block

Anyone shooting the Lee 7mm boolit in a 7x57 rolling block. Checked, unchecked, etc?? Just wondering how they may shoot as I thought these rifles were intended for much heavier bullets. The one I have is a true sewer pipe but it shoots minute of deer (barely) at 50 yds with jacketed stuff and was wondering about cast. I know about the "old" 7x57 being different from the current 7x57 so no need to rehash that here. Thanks!

I have just begun playing with Cast in a 7x 57 although it is not a rolling-block it has a generous bore .

Mine shoots cast boolits better than J-word stuff. That may be because I cast them at .288" diameter and gas-check them. My 7X57 roller has a worn but smooth bore. I cast of COWW/Lino and water drop quench. I had LBT make a 175 grain spire-point mould from a throat pound-cast. Off-the-shelf moulds are mostly a waste of money since none are the correct diameter and the "bore-ride" sections way too small to shoot well. Veral Smith at LBT is a genius when it comes to cutting a mould to accurately fit your gun's throat and bore.
