    my throat sizes

I slugged my cylinder, because I was about to send it to doug, and they are all from .4314 to .4318, as best I tell, so I am wondering, with money being tight, would it even make enough difference to notice? ( I size at .431) and can usually hit dog food cans at 20-ish yards, if I miss, it is usually a grazing shot. dougGuy, I would like to here your opinion as well as any others! thanks, and have a good'un!-Travis

I'd suggest you are good to go.

Sounds good. BUT.... Have you CAREFULLY slugged the barrel to check for a choke point at the frame? If it has one it needs to be addressed, and if after it is the barrel measurement is still smaller than the throats, then the gun is about as good as it will get, at least as far as the throat/barrel relationship anyways. You did use only pure lead to slug, right? Harder alloys spring back a bit and give an erroneous measurement.

no frame constriction, thank goodness! I got luck there, as it seems common, is it so common that you are lucky to get one that doesn't have constriction?

Sometimes the enemy of good is better.

Leave it alone for now if money is tight.

If the bore is smaller than the throats and has no constriction, I'm pretty sure you wont notice much of a difference due to .0004" variance in throat sizes. If you want to do something to mechanically improve the gun, I would look at the trigger. I don't recall ever meeting a Ruger S/A that didn't need help.
