    black out mold?

I think I'm going to order a pistol length blackout upper. My buddy uses the 240 lee bullet for sub sonic so that side is covered. Is there a cheap mold (like a lee) that is 100-120 grain that works at full velocity in an ar15 and runs right. I have no problem with a gas checked mold. I looked at midway and read the reviews there but none really mention the black out specifically. Only mention of the blackout with the lighter bullets is guys using them with bolt guns. Id really like something in that weight range that would have a similar point of aim to the jacketed hunting bullets.

Also the lee 240 is a poor design with the boattail. The NOE 230 or ACE 230 is better. If you want an expanding subsonic the NOE 247 HP is quite nice. Mine expands down to at least 900 fps. I havent tested expansion at lower speeds.

Take a look at the Lee 32 cal pistol molds. I use the truncated cone mold for a few .30 cal rifles. Don't have any of the RN molds.

Haven't tried it in a 300 BLK yet.

I don’t know about that weight range but the mold for 7.62x39mm has worked great for me. Killed a few yotes with it at 200 yardsish.

There are many threads on 300AAC molds here. Like xdmalder said MANY people use Lee 312-155-2R and I'm one of them. Great plinking round. I use PC without GC and still get decent accuracy. Costs me $0.09 per round which is cheaper then my .223 FMJs which are $0.13 per round. Love 300 Blackout I just loaded over 2500 of these rounds for this summer. Just waiting for weather to warm up.

^^^^Like xdmalder said MANY people use Lee 312-155-2R

I tried to Lee 120 grain bullet early one and did not have much luck getting an accurate load

I've run the half jacket with pistol powder, in the 10" 1:8 it hits about the same as my 142gr PC but only @ 25 yds & won't cycle the gas. Have to seat them way out. You probably need a good pointy boolit in that weight to cycle right. Maybe try the 40WT vs the BO - it's made for 125 pointy stuff.
    Whatever!

The crayon of death was designed by someone from the 300 blackout forum for the 300. So it does work well.

If I only had 2 molds to choose from for the 300 BO for target shooting I'd choose the 6 cavity Lee 312-155gr and the ACE or NOE 230gr. For cast hunting I'd use the NOE 247gr or Accurate Molds 245gr.. I have the Lee 155gr, ACE 230gr and Accurate Molds 245gr, they all work wonderfully in several 300 BO guns, from a single shot pistol and an sbr to my 16" carbine.

That’s what I would suggest as well, especially since you can get it in a six cavity version. I know it’s a bit heavier than you asked, but it’s like this bullet was made for the Blackout.

Why not the lighter lee molds? Id really like something that shot to the same point of aim as the 110-120 jacketed hunting bullets. Do these lighter designs from lee not run well through an AR?
