    Ruger Precision 223

Just got my new Ruger in. It looks good. The trigger is nice. I hope it does not have the firing pin problems of the early 223. Here is a pic next to 308 ( that I have not worked up a load for!)

I had an idea of building a 300 BO or 458 socom off this gun but the magazine will only work for 223 dia cases. 22 nosler will not go in. Hope its accurate as a 223 and I will just shoot it as is. The 308 was rebarrled with a 1/10 Bartlin 5r before It was fired the first time.

The 223 magazine is intresting because its ACIS style. Leaves a lot of room for loading tipped bullets longer.

If this one gets rebarreled it will probably be to a 223 AI .

223 made it to the range. I went through 5 rds and cleaned after each shot. Then 5 three shot groups and cleaned after each. After 20 rounds of BS cheap 55gr bullets going ever where I shot 5 rds of 73gr ELDs loaded for my AR. I used a SB die. @ 50yds I got a .466 group. Im hoping to get this @100 with hand loads for this rifle. Didnt have enough ELDs for another group.

Trigger was good. No primer cratering. So far I really happy with this gun.

Whats the twist on those Rugers? They like the heavier stuff?
