I knew that Balistol was some good stuff but had never thought of it as a machine/ cutting oil. Great out of the box thinking! Have you found a decent U.S. importer, distributor? Seems the last I bought was about thirty days out from Germany.

We used a lot of that food grade lubriplate in the one shop I worked in, but it was actually the food industry ( Campbells Soups) We went thru it by the 55 gallon drums. All the auto grease systems, grease guns, and any thing grease related was filled with it. Its a great grease very sticky and dosnt wipe off easily. All the presses can formers and equipment ran on it. That was the only draw back to it when rebuild was done or work cleaning it off was harder than other greases.

The time frame is considerably longer than the video shows. I will be working on educational videos and more for cast shooting, so this was good practice:

Ballistol was invented as a gun oil in World War I.

It's the only gun oil I use to clean, and preserve all wood metal and rubber, plastic too on all of my firearms.

It's a great bore cleaner and cuts through carbon well.

For Black Powder shooters, it makes the BEST moose milk.

I don't know who started using it as machine oil, but I wasn't the first. It's used by many shops.

I get Ballistol from the main dealer back east., 5 gallons at a time.

Washington Trading Company / BALLISTOL USA

That Food Grade Lubriplate is real sticky and it works great for my machines.

    Thanks for the compliments everybody..!

What kind of metal are you using for your dies? I bought some tool steel and its kind of expensive 33 bucks for 3 feet of O1 steel 3/4" diameter.
