    Cast Loads for 6.5 Creedmoor

Does anyone have any experience with the 6.5 Creedmoor with cast bullets ? Got a friend with a new Ruger Precision and wanting to try cast in it and not sure where to start

No published cast load data available. You might have to find an equivalent to start with. Compare the case capacity of the 6.5x51 to the Creedmoor and if its close then use that load data and start low and work up.

Problem also may be in bullet selection and fit. We have a conversation in another thread about 6.5 bullets. It appears NOE makes a mold for the Creedmoor.

I am curious to try the bullet in my .260 Rem.

I would probably use 260 Remington load data if I had an interest in cast in my 6.5 CM. I do not, I purchased my custom Encore barrel for long range high velocity shooting. It is one of the only firearms I have that will most likely never see cast loads. I have molds for every other firearm I own, but not that one. I'm even planning to play around with cast in my 22 Nosler.

There isnt much if any cast load data for the 260 Rem. Thats why i use 6.5x51. Their case capacity is similar enough. I dont know what the case capacity of the 6.5 Creedmoor but it does look like a .308 parent.
