    Too Many Muzzle Loaders

I was going through the safe and finally counted my collection and I have 14 muzzle loaders. While this may be a lot less than some and more than others there were two I can't remember why I bought them. One is an Ethan Allen 50 cal #126 with the Schuetzen stock (very rare) and the other is a Hopkins and Allen 58 cal under hammer that has been shot only 12 times ( 2 by original owner and 10 by me). What to do?

A little is good, a lot is better and too many is just enough. Go to the range early and leave late. Repeat daily.

Sell off what you don't want, and upgrade to a better quality gun with the money.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

You are correct. 14 is way too many. You need to send me the excess ones until you get to a suitable level.

You can check G B. As far as I can find out there were only a couple Schuetzen stock models made.

Lovingly clean them all and then foul them regularly. Repeat.

"Too many muzzleloaders" is HERESY! "Too many" is not actually possible! You can send any excess to me, of course; but what you need to do is get a couple more.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

These two are ones I bought on a whim and have only shot once at the range. I have developed a true love for 45 caliber slug guns, Hawken and Lehigh long rifles.

I only have 9, but the 9th one is unshootable though. So you are doing better than me with only 14 of them.
