    T/C compass!! Fantastic!!

I bought 2 TCs one in 308 and 30-06 I wanted to try the 1/12 twist in the 308. This is 15 rounds FIFTEEN rounds of the Lee 312-155 sized to .310 GC and PC seated to the crimp groove with 13 grn of 800x this was at 50 yards with a Vortex scope

I can’t wait to see how the ‘06 shoots!! This matches my point of aim with Hornady 150s at 50 yards and is only 2.5 low at 100 so no need to adjust my scope

At 100 yards it shoots 1 1/4” and at 200 I was getting 3”. I think this rifle likes it

Glad to see this, and I hope that bodes well for the rest of the line.
I bought a Compass last year in .243Winchester.
I haven't started loading for it yet, as a matter of fact, I don't have more than a few dozen rounds through it to date.

I am more than just impressed with the accuracy with off-the-shelf ammo.
I've deer hunted the same property for almost 15 years, and have never had the opportunity for a shot longer than about 35-40 yards.

    This year will be different.
My uncle just gifted me and my two brothers with 50 acres of woods.
He closed two weeks ago, and the property is an hour from home, so I've only been there a few times.
Once we clear shooting lanes, we will be able to get a 300 yard shot across the SHORT side of the property.
Length wise, once cleared, we'll have almost 900 yards!

I now have a REASON to take a high-power rifle into the field, and I couldn't be more excited for the next deer season.

Fantastic group there. I bought one if the TC Compass rifles in 6.5 Creedmoor last year and I am quite happy with it too.

Nice shootin’ with that Compass. I’m impressed with mine. Keep us posted on your experiments with the ‘06.

How do the Compass and Savage Axis compare in accuracy or any other way according to those having used both?

Great shooting! I would have been clinched just knowing I would ruin the group. What velocity is your load running?

Wow! You don’t see that level of accuracy every day! Much less right out of the box with cast!

My last Cabelas sale ad shows them at $324.99, with a $75 rebate makes it quite tempting!

I got mine off of KY gun co. They came with the vortex scope and rings for 399$ shipped plus the rebate I couldn’t pass them up..

I took it out again today and didn’t do as well but I think it’s because I put 50 rounds of 50BMG down range before I shot my group Click image for larger version.

That’s 10 rounds 100 yards with a called flyer(on the left side by my thumb) I still think I could do better if I didn’t shoot all the 50 before hand

My axis in 223 shoots really good about 1 1/4” at 100 with Hornady SP over CFE223 I got the TCS for the threaded barrel but I think I like the TCs a lot more then the Axis

I’d like to get one in 308 $ 223. I like the 5R rifling concept. That could be why the awesome group perhaps? I’d be curious how my Lee 200grs would group. I’ll be trying them in my Savage Axis heavy barrel. Barrel is off a 110.
    Decent rifles IMO.
    Thanks for sharing

I have both. Compass is the better rifle.
Better stock, finish, magazine, magazine latch, safety.
    Both are accurate.

    T/C mag.......$29
    Axis mag......$33& up, but unavailable.

I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor and it shoots very, very accurate
I got mine off GB for 250.00 with a 50.00 rebate so the gun cost me 200.00
the Compass I have shoots better than some of my higher priced guns

I have heard nothing but good things about the Compass. Are they still in the $250 range. I know the Ruger American has seemed to creep up in price.

You need to look for used or old stock for a T/C Compass. Smith & Wesson discontinued the T/C brand in 2020 and stopped production of all T/C firearms. They are trying to sell T/C off.

I hate to see Thompson Center go. They made excellent guns. So- no more Contender or Hawken? CDNN was selling the Compass in .243 for a great price last year- I guess that was the last of them.
