    22-250 imp to 22-250 brass

I have a lot of 22-250 imp brass that I wold like to use in my 22-250 Rem. I have never formed any kind of brass, so can anyone give me a tutorial on how to do this or if this can even be done?

I can not be positive but I think this is all once fired brass, or if there is such a thing as factory 22-250 imp brass, this may be brand new stuff.

You will be going backwards by reducing the acute shoulder angle and increasing body taper. I would use an rcbs file/trim die and size down in steps to help prevent collapsed cases. Good luck; hadn’t heard of this before.

By "22-250 imp" to you mean "22-250 Ackley Improved" ? I have both the regular 22-250 rifle (Mauser) and an AI (custom rifle built on a Montana Rifle action from Patriot Valley Arms). I shoot the Mauser out to 800 yards routinely with both factory and hand loads, and the AI out to 1400 yards using handloads. Cases for the latter are fireformed from factory new brass only using hot loads pushing 75 grain bullets for the reason that firing lighter 50 grainers will simply not expand the cases.

Yes mpkunz, I do mean 22-250 Ackley Improved. It sounds like I might be better off finding someone who can use this brass and getting some 22-250 Rem brass. I really don't need to make that much more work for myself.

    Thanks

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
