I'm brand new here, and brand new to casting, though I've been reloading for years. I'm looking for a load for 30-06, that can hold the 3" 10 ring on the SR target at 100 yards, without the need to gas check.
I see lots of talk about the 16 grains of 2400 being a great military caliber load, but my understanding is that produces velocities that require a gas check.
What do you guys use that is accurate enough at 100 yards? That also doesn't produce leading. Bonus point for a load using bulky powders that reduce the likelihood of an accidental double-charge
I'm a "keep it ultra simple kind of guy." My mold is dropping bullets that don't need to be resized. Less equipment is good in my world. I don't want to buy a resizer to put checks on if I can get around it.
