anyone PC soft lead in a microgroove?

I have a new to me marlin 336 coming. It's a 83' microgroove, and I've been reading tons of threads about coatings, hard boolits, and paper patching to get a good velocity in a Microgroove bbl. However, I have not heard of anyone trying a soft lead pill that was powder coated. And not much about microgroove and powder coating in general. I have a lee c309-150f that I would like to try and achieve 2000 fps or better...preferably with a soft lead.....

What are your thoughts on this??

If gas checked there is a chance. You say you want/need to achieve 2000 fps. May I ask why? To me accuracy trumps speed. I shoot 11-12 BHN gas check at 1800 fps very accurately, see no need to go faster.
A touch more information would be helpful as to why..

No particular reason why only that with patching it has been said that jacketed velocities can be achieved. I had only wondered it it was possible with powder coating as well.... fast projectile and soft lead, I would think would be a rather spectacular result.

I don't know if you can get to 2k fps. I tried a 185GC PCd in my 336, very soft alloy over 15gr 2400, haven't chonyd yet. 50 yds. Tried same boolit in 308W for 2k fps, lousy results.

So no leading issues with the soft lead? I was hoping that the PC would allow it to be used. Could you tell me what size your bullets are? I'm wondering if maybe a thickness variation of PC might cause some accuracy issues.... (in that 308/higher velocity)

No leading in either, 311 for 30/30 & 310 for 308W. Alloy is Pb/Zn/Cu only. Added Sb and got better results, same load. 308W still wan't very good. PC effects chambering more than accuracy. as far as I can tell.
    Whatever!
