    Pics are something we all like. Too bad about the Greek but that 1908 will do I bet. "Loose as a goose" means reliability!

    update on the rifle, it turns out this is not an 08, but rather a 17, likewise, not a 7mm, but an 8mm. the front 4 or 5 inches are still washed out from cleaning, but possibilities abound. it is more complete than i realized, so i may need to see if i can find a more proper period barrel to swap over on it.

    apparently, this was manufactured toward the end of ww1, which explains the lack of serial numbers on the bolt. my previous mauser, a 91 argentine, had the #s stamped everywhere!
