    Portable Rifle Rack

Built a couple of these a year or so ago for a friend and I. The plans came off the internet somewhere. I made a couple changes to make production a little easier since the guy who did the plans was a master wood worker and his pictures showed more wood working equipment than I'll ever own. Mine has been used twice and it works great. Very portable and stable. Anyway, thought I'd share.

    Neat! Good idea.

Nice job. Making me rethink the way I was gong to make mine. I like the way it folds all in one and is compact.

A couple notes that may be of interest. I painted the outside with a crinkle paint that should wear well. You can see it holds 8 rifles. It will also hold 4 cleaning rods (the smaller notches). Although, I have found the smaller ones will also hold a rifle like a Marlin 60.

Its very stable. The top piece is held on by two dowel pins on each side. I have had an M1 Garand, SMLE, Swedish Mauser, M1A, and an AR in it at the same time with no issues. The rifle you see in the pic is one of my high end custom rifles and I have no fear of it ever falling over.

Thanks for posting. Very nice design/execution.

Mine is on 16" bicycle wheels.Holds four guns and a crate box for accessories. Little different premise from yours.Just good to see projects being DIY'd to enhance the sport.

Thank you Shopdog. I have a couple more things I'll post when I get all the brain cells to connect.

Might have to build one... think I found an abandoned farm I can shoot at(have permission to build a good backstop) and a table and rifle rack will get built and left there in the machine shed the farmer keeps equipment in still. He gave me a key for access to the bathroom in it and he will shoot there if I build it. Think I have space for 100-500 yard targets.
