That is marvelous!!! I hate to give up on the model 7 because it is such a light and handy rifle. And I love the scout scope on it as well. I may look for a lightweight replacement but I would prefer one with iron sights.

Well, I just picked up a Ruger American Compact rifle in .308. Made up some dummy rounds and brought them to the gunshop where they let me test feeding in the back room. This could be my first centerfire gun that will never see a j-word bullet. The rifle is very light and handy. Stuck a Weaver 4x on it for now. Going to try some 16 gr. of 2400 under the Accurate Molds 31-160G. I took them down to .310.

Got a 1" group @ 50 yds. with 30 grs. 3031. 1920 fps. 10 grs. Unique was about 1.5" @ 1410 fps. Fired about 20 rounds and zero leading. Going to try 7.5 of Unique and 28 of 3031.
