    Friend gave me, 50# block of lead out of a x-ray machine, is it safe to use? Dave

    If that block of Pb won't fit the melt pot, you can cut it down with an old limb saw & a chunk of wax lubrication for the saw...doesn't take much wax because this type saw has a wide kerf. Slow and easy as you go & it'll cut like butter.

    A friend of mine that worked as a maintence worker in a hospital lucked out getting 4 of these lead X-ray blocks when the room was upgraded. He said the lead was very soft and possibly pure.Robert
