NOE TLC313-150-RF 2 cavity PB (RD) for 7.62x39?

    Folks,

Has anyone had any experience with this particular mold, in any rifle? I have the Ranch Dog 165gr, and its a superb design, the mold noted above appears to be a modified
150gr of the Ranch Dog mold. I sure would like to have a copy in my hands to load for 30-30 or 300 Blackout.

Any comments? Suggestions? (Other than "Buy One"! Lol!)

    Thanks,

    HV

I have the gas checked, RG2, hollow point model and shoot it in 7.62x39, Yugo SKS's. I powder coat it to bring it up to .314". Shoots good!

I'd suggest that you get a gas check mold.

    Yo-

I put plain based checks on all of my plain base .30 bullets, normally. That way, I have the best of both worlds.

What kind of load data are you using in your Russki rounds? Just curious.

I shoot this boolit in a Zastava carbine--RD designed this boolit explicitly for the CIP-spec 7,62x39 chamber and bore.

I'm having good luck using AA1680 and -2230.

I use a PB modified RD 170 in 30/30 & BO. The meplat is ~ same as NOE & it feeds from Lancer mag OK. The meplat of the 041 & original RD is too big for the BO. Don't know if the crimp grove is in the right pace for BO either.
    Whatever!

Haven't bothered to try any other powders but, heard that 2400, IMR4227, AA1680 and AA2230 are all good, too.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but after a search on the board, I don't see much else about this design.

Anyone used it to hunt? What were your results like?

planning on using it in a new Ruger ranch I picked up on the cheap during "ruger days" locally. Guess I need to get around to slugging that thing.

I don't hunt with it but I shoot lots of them through my CZ 527. I Hi-Tek coat them and like to use a gas check to keep things clean. I typically use 2400 for loading and they are great for banging steel targets.

I have the Ruger bolt Ranch Rifle in 7.62x39. Over 13 grs. of 2400, a .312 bullet makes shotgun patterns, a .313 bullet shoots 2 inches at 100 yards. My bullet is the Lee 312-155 with a gas check and HiTek coated.

that x39 cartridge really shines with lee 185 gr (for the 303 brit) loaded with LVR. A good thread here on this by Larry Gibson. However I have trouble in my sks feeding these heavy boolits. In my bolt gun they are slick to feed!
