    Scrapyard Trip Today,,Selling This Time

There's a new scrapyard in my area. Closer to me than the one I used to go to, not as much of a PITA to deal with and usually a few cents better on price. Today I had 32# of mostly cartridge Brass and 23# of scrap jackets which they took as #2 Copper. I had cleaned off the black crud that it seems prone to after going through the smelter so it showed the copper color. I asked if they would take the same stuff if I brought it in in the blackened condition. The old place didn't want it at all these guys don't care what color it is.

Walking around money for a gun show tomorrow.

I may throw the jackets in the wet tumbler next time and see what happens. Hoping the aluminum and copper will go up. Have been stock piling, hoping and waiting. Have a full load of cans now, may have to bite the bullet and go sooner. Only about 300 pounds of copper tho, so I can wait on that..

I had been saving batteries for years, intending on melting them down. Common sense and reading comprehension finally prevailed. The local yard was pleased to unload 1990# of junk batteries from my flatbed. The proceeds paid for a considerable amount of clean, fluxed ww in 5# ingots.
