Any ideas on these bottle necked 32 Long Colt cases?

So, what do you think these may have been made for?

Parent case; 32 Long Colt
OAL; 0.919", I think un-trimmed because of the factory like finish on mouth.
Neck length; 0.235".
Mouth ID; 0.254"
Case body straight and undisturbed at 0.317".
Appear to have been annealed.
Brass is totally clean inside, so never actually fired after forming.

Someone messin' about, I expect. I have a small number of cases I've necked down just to see what could be done.

Maybe an exploration for a snappier round for a Smith Kit Gun (wasn't one such round called the 22 Snapper?). Or, this could have been an attempt at making one of the English Rook rounds.

Perhaps a "garden gun Mild cat Idea similar to a .25-20 Single shot but shortened considerably?

To be more certain of the possible planned use we would need more dimensions, such as the neck outside diameter, rim diameter, rim width, primer pocket diameter and depth to narrow the options more.
The neck Inside diameter could be a starting point for a bullet size any where frm .255" to .260" as we don't know what the intended neck tension was to be.
