    While a dollar a pound seems a little high consider that its pretty clean and there should not be much waste. Your wheel weights at 28 cents double in cost if only half are lead. Then you loose around 15% for clips! But, prices and value change by location and soft lead is hard to find in some places.

    Another route you guys may want to check into is most scrap yards are not set up to sell to the public but will do a swap. I have made several trips to the yards with a load of scrap and load what I wanted before going back across the scale with steel for steel. When I get lead I may carry in brass and they do a weight exchange to even out the cost.
    Just a seed some may get to grow when cash fails.
    Reloading to save money I am sure the saving is going to start soon

    One local yard went from being a metal supplier to absolutely NO SALES to the public when they changed owners. Kind of sucked because that is where i would get cheap steel for projects...
