    Load data for NOE 453-210

I have the NOE 453-210 mould works great throws a huge hollow point that comes in at about 215gr and a flat point that drops at approx. 240gr. I'm loading them in 45ACP and have found that to not hit the lands I have to seat the bullet at 1.175 COL which greatly diminishes case capacity.

I want to load using HS-6 however their load data only goes to a 230gr bullet seated at 1.225 COL with a start charge of 7gr and a max of 8gr. So does anyone have thoughts on where I should start charge weights for this bullet?

By the way when I bought the mould I thought the solid would be 210gr and the hollow point lighter. Oh and alloy is wheel weights with tin added.

You didn't mention what firearm you were using.

You could get "Dougguy" to throat your barrel to keep it off the lands.

to be safe, With a heavier boolit, start 1 grain lighter than the previous weights lightest load and work your way up

I load the NOE 453-210-RF. Mine is an RG2 Brass and drops a 220 gr. HP and 235 gr. flat point Excellent accuracy and function in CZ 97B, 1911, G21 and G30. My 453-210-RF has an OAL of .600". I also use the Lyman 452374 which drops for me at 228 gr. and has an OAL of .687". Lyman spec's the 452374 OAL at 1.272 which puts .304" of the boolit inside a 45 ACP case which has an OAL of .890". I load my NOE 453-210-RF to a COAL of 1.190 which puts .300" of the bullet inside the case and I use Lyman load data for the 452374.

Oops! Your right guess I was thinking and not writing. Springfield Armory standard 1911 with a Barsto match barrel.

My Colt 1911 factory barrel handles the 453-210-RF at a COAL of 1.190 just fine. I understand the tight chamber in your Barsto barrel. The main reason I settled on the 1.190 COAL was the Lone Wolf barrel chambers in the G21 and G30. Have since "SEEN THE LIGHT" and reverted to Glock factory barrels for 45 ACP with obvious improvement in function and accuracy IMHO. The 453-210-RF is superb in 45 LC also.

I agree it would be a good 45 Colt bullet, but I have the RCBS 270 Keith type bullet for that.

You can't have only one .45 Colt bullet! I have 4 and one more coming. hc18flyer
