    .

Sad news ....... John Kort's Son-in-Law posted this elsewhere today:

With regrets I am here to let you members know that John “Jack” Kort passed away last night in his sleep peacefully.

I am Jack’s son-in-law and on behalf of the entire family, we would like to thank each of you for your prayers, support, and for being a friend of his.

You all know the knowledge, experience and love Jack had for the shooting sport and I hope the next guys up carry on in his tradition.

As an avid Marlin fan and hunter, I was amazed at what Jack knew and what he did with his knowledge.

I also had the honor of cleaning out his room where he made bullets and I can say I have never seen so much stuff!

Jack loved life and his savior Jesus Christ and now he is at rest with him.

We all shoot and some make bullets but for me there will never be another Jack.

An honestly good man with love for everyone.

Thanks again and keep the traditions going!

I am very saddened to read this. John was a constant source of encouragement and information that enabled me to get a lot more enjoyment and accuracy from my firearms.

I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

John was a knowledgeable man who shared his knowledge freely and willing. A very nice man.
It was sure fun to discuss leverguns, cast bullets and collector cartridges with John.

Thanks for re-posting that, pietro. I've noticed he hasn't been posting much in the past several weeks but hoped he was just busy. Hope you don't mind that I re-posted over on the Winchester Collectors' forum, he's going to be missed there as well.

We never met, but I have known and loved John for 25 years. He was one of the finest men I have ever known, and is worthy of my tears.

I doubt that I've ever come across a person who was more generous to "strangers" (we who only knew him online). He offered time, support, suggestions and encouragement, even mailing sample boolits he had cast. He was always responsive and most kind.
