Lyman 55 on a lee loadmaster?

OK so I am trying to find a new way to throw powder on my Lee load loadmaster. Auto disc pro works good for pistol but need something different for rifle. Tried the double disk kit and hate it. I know I can buy all kinds off lee or hornady measures but what I would like to do is use one of my spare Lyman 55 I all ready own. I have the 7/8 bushing but what are you're thoughts on a tight seal at the case neck. FYI I don't mind flipping the handle on the measure to charge. Any way to use something like the lee thru expanding die below to keep spillage to a minimum? Been charging into a cup and dumping through a funnel on the lee die. Just want to eliminate a step if possible

Have a new bushing made for your lyman powder measure to mount it in the lees dies threads ( I believe they are 5/8") and mount it in the die. With the sliding sleeve and proper adjustment it should function the same as the others. Hornady and some others make a die to use a manual measure in progressive presses that may work here also.

Rcbs has a linkage kit for there drum measure to automate it some. Do you have the original screw bushings for the 55? Mine came with on tapered some for larger cartridges and one for smaller ones maybe that would work screwed into the bushing?

I thought about a new adaptor. Any idea who on here could come up with one?

I don't load a lot so the linkage is not a big deal. I don't know on the other I inherited one from my grandfather

A Lyman 55 is a slip fit into a Lee Universal rifle charging die, works well, use it that way myself.

These are made to fit into the charge die too: http://www.uniquetek.com/powder-handling

The Perfect Powder Adapter for the RCBS Uniflow will also work with the Lyman 55.

Lyman 55 measure on a Lee PTX Die

Install the drop tube of the Lyman on the measure and the drop tube fits the top of the Lee Powder thru expander die - rifle or pistol, w/o modifications.

    Problem solved.

I have a question...With all the vibration from the press and with the measure attached to the die / set-up, how do you keep from getting variable powder drops from the vibration and powder level?

Actually on a solid bench this works pretty well. And when they use one of the mounts that actuate them with the press stroke operation is very consistant with the powder measure.

I set one up on the RL450 to do some finicky little 25acp's, because it was the only measure I had that would throw a consistent 1.3 grain charges. Worked well, just have to get the hand sequence sync'd to the machine ...
