If you had to pick one lever rifle to keep would you keep the .357 Mag or 45 Colt? Both have taken small game and deer no problem.

I'm going to duck asking this question! LOL

    357. I have both, but the 357 gets more use.

Not much of a choice, but I'd go with the 357!

I love the 357 mag But I have voted 45lc. Reason is you can load down the LC with a 120g hp up to a 405g. Also I never had one so there is that. The 357 I have.

I have both and 45 would be my choice. loaded with hotter loads and or heavier bullets, it can equal trapdoor 45-70. Lite loads plink well.

If you can have just one and these two were the only picks, well it is a no brainer, it would be the 45, the 357, jest isn't ever going to grow into one.

I want both, but unless I find a smoking deal I can’t walk away from I will get the 45 first. So I would choose the 45 if I could have 1.

Neither, 30-30 is more versatile. The 357 I had was kind of a handy utility rifle for off the tractor/4 wheeler and would not be as destructive on small game. I traded it off as I have a 32-20 and a 22 mag which are better for that use. I am deer rifle poor so I never saw a need for use of the 357 on a deer and had a 367 rifle but no pistol and a 45 Colt pistol but no desire for a rifle. Never got excited about the ammo inter-chageability thing. As plinkers and casual shooters the 357 permits use of a wider variety of ammo use from 38 special to 357. Saying that I do not have a 357 revolver as I use 22 for most practical pistol carry and the 45 when I might want something bigger.

I voted .357 because it's more versatile. If need be you can shoot .38 short & long Colt as well as .38 Special. And it will put venison in the freezer.

I had to vote .45 because of the reasons stated above. I have plenty of brass and can load it up or down.

Another vote for the 45 colt. Mines accurate enough to head shoot small game with light loads and can be loaded to take anything that I run into here in WV.

45 Colt. Now that Starline Brass has the "shortest Colt" cowboy brass, if you reload 45, you can do it all from plinking to bears.

Because I hunt with a .308 it would be the .357. If I had to choose one as my only rifle it would be the .45.

Without a doubt the 45 Colt, can take small game up to the largest Deer (Moose, would rather have something bigger though) much better than the .357 (which I like also).
